Lorry COE renewal in Singapore: what to do, and in what order
Your lorry's COE has an end date. Before that date you either renew the COE or change the lorry.
The renewal itself is done with LTA on OneMotoring. The cost is the Prevailing Quota Premium (PQP) for your category at the time you renew. We do not print that figure here because it changes every month.
This guide covers the order of things, so the lorry stays on the road.
Three dates, not one
A lorry has three separate dates: insurance expiry, road tax expiry and COE expiry. They rarely fall on the same day.
Missing any one of them can take the lorry off the road. Track all three.
- Insurance
- Your motor policy. It must be valid before you can renew road tax.
- Road tax
- Renewed with LTA. It cannot be renewed without valid insurance.
- COE
- The right to keep the lorry registered. Renew it before it ends, or the lorry must be deregistered.
Renew the COE or change the lorry?
Renewing keeps the lorry you know. Changing gets you a new lorry with a fresh COE.

The order that keeps you on the road
Get insurance cover first. Then renew road tax, because road tax cannot be renewed without valid insurance.
